Ben Zobrist's value just increased (w/yahoo)

Ben Zobrist played 2nd base last night. As a result, Yahoo now has him eligible at OF, SS, and 2B. If he's available in your league, he could be a great pickup to at least provide insurance at those positions. I grabbed him a few days ago to fill in for Hanley Ramirez who was going to be out for a few days. To make room on the roster I shipped out Orlando Hudson (who I picked up while Dan Uggla was in a horrible slump). Now I have an adequate fill in if Uggla goes into another slump or goes on the DL, as well as, someone to plug in at shortstop if Hanley is out (he's missed several games this season).

In addition, expect Zobrist to be in the Rays lineup everyday with Bartlett on the DL and Akwinora out for the year. He's hitting .300 with power and also steals the occasional base.

Kid is a stud. Gonna be playing everyday from now on. Batted leadoff today, and is already 1 for 2 to up his average to .309. His OPS is near the top of MLB. I don't know much about fantasy baseball, but I would think this kid has some serious value. 50% of his hits are doubles.

Ben Zobrists value just increased w/yahoo

I think that Ben might have been a nickname that a friend gave him and then when he went into hiding used it so as not to attract attention.

I'm in a 12 team league and on June 10 was 3rd in Saves so I dealt KRod straight up to a guy near bottom in Saves who had picked up Zobrist as a bench player in about mid May.

At same time was able to nab JP Howell and though he's not KRod for 2 to 3 saves a week, he's getting one or two and his other numbers are very comparable
